The Benefits of Using Apple Cider Vinegar Daily
For some strange reason, I have always loved the taste of apple cider vinegar. I also happen to love the health benefits associated with it and this little natural wonder is amazing stuff in a bottle! Bragg Apple Cider Vinegar is my favorite brand if I had to pick one; it is fully organic and they have been doing this for years.
First, let’s talk about what exactly IS apple cider vinegar? It’s apple cider that has been fermented! Does this make you think about probiotics? It should! It also has significantly less sugar due to the fermentation process.
There are many different benefits that apple cider vinegar is capable of but I am going to focus on a few in this post:
1. Fighting off colds! Every single time I start to feel like I am coming down with a cold or “something” I run to my bottle of apple cider vinegar. Since I am totally weird and love the taste of apple cider vinegar, I drink it like a shot of tequila! I swear by this! I have a friend who’s grandmother takes a shot of apple cider vinegar daily and rarely even gets a common cold.
2. Acid reflux and no you’re not reading that wrong! It’s true, apple cider vinegar can help with acid reflux because it adds acid to the stomach. Acid reflux and Gerd is caused by acid back flow, and by adding the apple cider vinegar to the stomach you’re adding acid to the stomach and digestive track to help prevent the back flow of acid which could help with acid reflux issues. I personally can tell you this in conjunction with a healthy more plant based diet did wonders for my acid reflux.
